Imagine the Possibilities

*****New Library*****

The Trustees of the Park City Public Library have purchased land to build our new library.  Imagine a library that has space to meet the needs of all segments of our growing population and the businesss community.  Stand on the end of Millsboro St. looking southeast across 61st Street.   In that area our new library will arise from the wheat stubble.

The City Council of Park City decided that with the hard econimc times and the strugle to raise funds that they would put one million dollars from the MBTE settelment fund towards a library.
The 8,000 square foot library ocupies 1 acre of the 5 acre tract that was purchased by the library board. In the future when our dream library is built, we will convert the current library to a community center.

Below is the initial plan developed by architects, Law Kingdon of Wichita.  Feel free to visit the library to see a larger version.

The library board and staff invite you to help us imagine the possibilities of how a new library facility could serve the citizens of Park City.  We will serve the children with new and expanded reading programs.  We will serve the teens with their own Young Adult section and special programs.  We will serve adults with a new programming, reading spaces, special collections including genealogy, study rooms, reading areas, and much more.  We will serve the business community with video conferencing and business related classes.  We will serve the community with evening and weekend meeting space, from 50 - 150 persons.

The Park City Public Library is an IRS designated non-profit organization with a 501c3 designation.  All foundation, corporate and private individual gifts and grants are tax deductable.  Please donate to our brick building campaign.  Bricks can be purchased for $50 or for $500.  You may purchase a brick through our secure online paypal account.

We have several other fund raisers throughout the year that add to our building fund.  Our change jar was started with a $550 donation from an interested library patron.  To date we have deposited over $3000 in change.   We are still collecting change at the desk.

 A new Library!

The Park City City Council voted to move the 1 million dollars it had set aside as a matching grant into a new library.

The new library will be at 2107 E. 61st. N.

This is just east of the Park City Medical Center and south across 61st. from the Nazarine Church.

The building will be 8,000 sq feet with a full basement.

We will have a 20 x 20 foot safe room upstairs.

Contruction should begin in January.

We hope to move into the new facility in August.

The Basement is being dug now. The contractors started the new basement and foundation on January 30.

We will add a page to hold pictures of the construction project.
